Presidential Aspirant and previous Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has uncovered that he intentionally left Lagos out of the Southwest states penciled for assume control by the then ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2003 surveys.

The PDP presidential aspirant made the exposure yesterday, while meeting with party stalwarts in Lagos.

He said he purposely left Lagos by then in light of his long-term association with the previous Lagos Governor, similarly as he begged the general population of the state to excuse him for that exorbitant slip-up.

The former Vice President said if given another opportunity he would not rehash such misstep, including: "When the PDP came to control in 1999, the whole Southwest states were controlled by the Alliance for Democracy (AD), however in 2003, I told my Boss,Former  President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, to give me the expert to assume control over the Southwest, which he did and I assumed control over all the southwest states aside from Lagos.

"I cleared out Lagos, in light of the fact that Tinubu and I have made considerable progress from the PFM, PDM to SDP. Consequently I chose to leave Lagos for him. I could without much of a stretch have assumed control Lagos, yet sadly he (Tinubu) utilized Lagos to skip back and today we have lost the Southwest states to the decision APC."

While requesting absolution for letting Lagos well enough alone for the 2003 takeover course of action, Atiku pronounced: "On the off chance that I have another chance, Lagos will go together, I can disclose to you that. I recognized what I did to safeguard Lagos, however I need to engage you to allow me to return, so I can adjust that error. That slip-up brought us to where we are today.
